Hopefully everything worked out ok for the 3 fuzzies Nope... Those were DIFFERENT ones!!! Very Frustrating Times at FN's the last few days!!! Can't go into it now, but we hope to have info about the "CL" Fuzzies on Monday or so.

There is no way of any of us knowing who posted what unless they tell us... but in all honesty, anyone could have contacted them. I really don't think blaming people on this board is going to get anyone anywhere.
Once it was posted that they were shelter ferrets, that was all that needed to be done. As we all know CL is a public site, and anyone could have answered the ad.
If there is an update I am sure FN will try to keep the board updated.

OK folks, first of all thank you all for your concern over these babies. Here is the story from the horses mouth. The woman that posted did so ina panic as she was being tossed out by her hubby. The pictures posted are in question. NONE of the fuzzies are ill. I just came from our Vets office and checked her file. ALL the ferrets were to see him less then 2 weeks ago. When I asked her about them she assured me that the little sable (Junior) had just woke up when she snapped the pic. The little white girl (Snowball) has had seasonal rat tail since she was here at FN's and the pic was old. She is in full coat now after being treated with Clearasil for the blackheads on the tail. The pic of the other white (Bella) is our picture from the Petfinder posting last year. I have her address along with an invitation to come and see them ANY time I wish. I reminded her that if she can't keep them for ANY reason they must come here. She said that there is no way that she will part with her babies and if anything happens we will be notified right away. She is going forward with the divorce but has worked it out amicably with her soon to be ex hubby so the fuzzies will stay. Again thank you all for your concern but everything is under control and I will go to check up in a few days. Keith

I posted on CL saying I was interested in adopting if stil available... no one has thus far contacted me. I was impatient, and didn't want to mention anything about legalities obviously... so a little fib never hurt anyone.

Just a little heads up for everyone. Trying to prove neglect on an animal is very hard to do. We have been there. Animals are considered property and can even be put to sleep by their owner without reason, providing it is done by a licensed Vet, humanely. There is legislation which will try to change that in the US. We all have to keep ourselves in check that we don't shoot ourselves in the foot by reacting without all the facts. I am guilty of that myself and have to keep myself in check so I don't just act out of passion. Sometimes we have to take a step back and make sure that the correct channels are used. This could have turned into a big mess if we just scared this woman off and there was no previous relationship with Father Natures. She could have had the fuzzies put down or turned out to the wild to fend for themselves. We have a great network at TLH and should use it to our advantage, when trying to help fuzzies. We need to communicate and coordinate and we can move mountains the right way. Keith

That's the truth. In order to prove a dog is neglected, the dog literally has to be on the brink of death by starvation, severely beaten and wounded, et cetera. It's not fair, but we can try to help in any way possible, no matter how small. I"m glad that this worked out for the best.
