Father,
You, and all shelter parents, are to be admired. I cried just reading your post about the vet visit. I would be a wreck doing this in person.
As a people nurse, I have to say that you may never really get the bowel/bladder control back for Little Dude. The trauma that he suffered to his spine damaged the nerves that govern those functions and unfortunatly nerves don't regenerate. I have taken care of many people who have have spinal trauma and while they were able to gain most of their mobility back, they were destined to need the security of adult incontinence protection.
You are truly a lifesaver to little fuzzies everywhere and please keep doing what you are doing. I am going through a rough spot right now after having been off on maternity leave, but you can rest assured that once the finances are in order there will be donations to you, Connie and others to help aid in the care of those in need.
Blessings go out to all the shelters out there. **Now I havew to stop before I make an even bigger fool of myself and startblubbering all over the keyboard.**

Hi Crystal, I've just now been able to check my emails and I'm so happy that enough was raised to help lil Dude. He is precious and it would be a shame to have him put down for something such as that. I have been upset the past 24 hours as one of my girls somehow sneaked past me night before last and ran off. The main problem with that is, she is blind. I assumed she was in her cage for the night when putting the other two to bed. Next morning, they were there but she wasn't. I immediately began looking for her. I turned the whole house upside down, looked throughout my yard over and over again, walked up and down the road calling for her, but couldn't find her anywhere. Upset wouldn't begin to explain how I felt. With prayers from my friends and swollen eyes, God was watching over her. I got a call at 7:25 this morning from a man about 2 blocks from me saying he had her. His son found her and they got my number from a note I had posted yesterday on some telephone poles up the street from me. He said he didn't even know what a ferret was. I've never been so happy in my life! He said she is a little weak and needs some food and TLC! He is going to call me when he gets back to his house and I can come and pick her up. I can hardly wait to get her home!!! Note to everyone-If your little one ever gets missing, don't give up! I almost did, but couldn't. If I had, what would have happened to her? If you love it, hang on to the hope and prayers. Don't give up whatever you do! Thank God for people who care and for taking care of my girl, Anna, and lil Dude!!
