Its good to hear skittles is doing alot better. She must be to be keeping up with LD in the tube runs. And its cool that MN is teaching him sign language. itll make him just a little more of a whole ferret to be able to learn what people are saying
Ive almost got the bedding box full. I think I'll try to stuff in like 2 more before I seal it up and bring it out to the post office. As for visiting, im really looking forward to trying to make a trip down there. Hopefully in the spring (adopting or not) I can get my friend Damon to help me con mike into a trip down there and maybe over to NYC (which mike has never seen).

Hello everybody, It's me Not So Little Dude. Mom and Dad Nature have moved me in with my bestest buddy "Butters". He is a really big boy that plays with me as gentle as a lamb. He lets me romp and chomp on him and get away with anything but cuddles up and keeps me cozy at sleepy time. What a great new friend he is. Mother signed to me that they are going to keep him at Father Natures to keep me companyand be my forever friend. I still have to keep doing my exercises to make my legs strong but since sleeping in the hammy with Butters I don't make as much of a mess. I don't want to get my buddy all messy so I try my best to potty away from the hammy. Father would like me to ask everyone with SPECIAL fuzzies like me to email some pictures for me to see. You can send them right here for everyone to enjoy or send them to fnferretrescue@cs.com Bye bye for now...LD

Hello folks Little Dude here, fillin in for Father Nature. It's been a little stressful here lately with all the poor sick fuzzies comin in. I want to play with the new weasels but Poppa N says they are too sick to play just yet. Poppa N has been goin back and forth to Dr M's alot lately. The new weasels that don't feel good are Meesha, a sweet little girl with adrenal, Hip, that has adrenal too. He seems sad because his best friend Hop went someplace called the bridge last night and he feels lonely. My good friend Dakota is going in soon for adrenal surgery and Poppa says there are 2 more adrenal fuzzies comin here on Wednesday and another little boy that has a tumor on his tail is comin Friday. We did get some new playmates last week though and Poppa says we will find them a forever place to live. I wish they could all stay here but I guess it would get pretty crowded. I have been put in charge of welcoming the new fuzzies to Father Natures once they come down from the quarentine room. Don't know what that is but they all seem really happy to get out of there. We all just bounce around and play together with Poppa and Momma N. He says that it's his favorite time of the day, when we are all together like that. I will talk to everyone soon and remember to hug your fuzzies every day.

I have a box full of bedding all ready to head down to you, but Ive gotta bet my lazy butt to a post office when I get paid. Im going to be starting a new box as soon as I send the current one down. the next one will have other things besides just bedding

Sorry to go off topic on Little Dudes String but I am unable to start a new one from work as Matt has told you all before. I just need to vent a little. Two days ago we picked up Naomi, a very small albino (young) girl from a vets office that has no exotic Docs. She was missing fur in about 4 places on her body and the skin was cracked and raw. You could tell she was feeling miserable and we took her to Dr. M to see what it was. There was evidence of ring worm so we put her into our high quarantine area and began to treat with antibiotics for the infection and a salve for the ringworm. Ringworm in ferrets is quite rare and usually only reacts to the skin of a ferret in a severely debillitated state. This poor little thing was so neglected and forgotten before coming to us that she weighed 15.1 ounces and her teeth were loose in her jaws. The outcome was horrible. She did not have the strength to fight the infection and the wounds were driving her mad even with the help of the meds. I went home at lunch today to let her out in a playpen we have outside to try and give her some fresh air. She could barely stand and collapsed in front of me. I had to return to work so Mother Nature ran her right to the vet where the Doc said she needed to be helped to the Rainbow Bridge. Where does this callouse, cold hearted attitude come from in people? How can someone allow a beautiful creature that shows it's love for life every waking moment to just waste away in front of them? Please forgive me for this post, I don't like to rant but I am at a complete loss. Keith

you don't need to be sorry for anything. You are great and we love what you do for the lil fuzzies. Some people just don't care they are stupi a**holes. Thank MN for helping the lil onr cross over with love and not hate.

I am sorry about your loss too. People's cruelty will probably will never stop to anger and amaze me. It never stops. We have been fostering a little puppy from the local animal shelter for 2 months now. When we got him, he was 5 weeks old with a broken jaw - somebody just threw him out of the truck. SICK! I only find comfort in one thought - what goes around, comes around. These people will eventually get it one way or the other. I am not really a spiritual person, I do beleive in God (it's more of an image for me of something way bigger) and I would hate to be one of those people in the afterlife. All we can do is save one fuzzy at time - it may not change the world, but for that fuzzy the whole world will change.

Some people are just !!! As a matter of fact, they are a notch below it. IF there IS a heaven, I'm sure St. Francis has a say in who does or doesn't get in. All we can do is save the ones we CAN!!! (the ferrets that is - screw the people) And Keith... maybe we'll hang this w/e at OUR house for a change. We all know that you guy's need a break from the fuzzy dramas, if only for an evening, at least. We'll talk tonight. Later, Matt K.

Lena, I really like the syaing you have for you last statement. Can I use that in my signatures? You should be able to use it. It has been used for various shelters for years with dog, cat, etc instead of ferret

poor girl.... youd think those vets, exotics or not, theyd of tried to help the poor thing. At least she found some people who were able to try and help her out in her last days. Im sure karma will get the best of naomi's ex-owners one day.. maybe they'll end up a flesh eatting disease and no one will help them..

As SW John said, it is not my saying. I heard it in regards with dogs and it just shook me. I was trying to get over soem sad events and news I saw one day and came across this saying. It made a huge difference. Now I keep telling it myself a lot. It helps, sometimes more, sometimes less. And really does not make any difference - cata, dogs, ferrets, birds, horses or any other live creature. Not humans though, i think there is no hope for us
