**Attn Admin I hope this is the right place to post this if not please move to the proper board and sorry inadvance** I have 3 ferrets 2 female approx 2yrs old and 1 male approx 3 yrs old they are all very gentle and playful never have bitten anyone. They will come with a huge ferret nation 142 cage (only 2 years old) and any food and accs. I have left at the time of pickup (over a $100.00 worth I’m sure) you will would need a van or large vehicle to pick up. I’m asking a rehoming fee of $350 neg. and you must have knowledge of ferrets so I know they will be well taken care of. If your interested email me Kelovitz@yahoo.com Btw I’m in Keansburg NJ about 10 min off the GSP exit 117 pics are posted here cnj.craigslist.org/pet/2236052320.html

I strongly encourage you to surrender them to a ferret specific shelter. You can find some local here: www.ferret.org/links/shelters.htmlThey will be most equipt for finding the best home for your little ones. Craigslist is a scary place for animals... I hope everything goes well.

Please dont think me rude, but your asking price is kinda steep for 3 older ferrets, especially when you're looking at a whole range of problems that will be coming on fairly shortly that comes with age (adrenal, insulinoma, cancer...). A 142 is worth alot, but you have to keep in mind its condition.
I second finding a shelter. Its safer and better for your kids in the long run, especially over Craigslist - chances of finding a ferret savvy owner on craigslist are pretty low since most of us stay away. You can give the shelter the cage as well, which will make a great donation or you can ask that the cage possibly go with them when they're adopted out if at all possible.
I wish you the best of luck for you and your kiddos.

I felt the same about the asking fee, potato.
If you are selling them for $350 because you need the money, you can always try giving them up for adoption by themselves and sell some of their old stuff to recoup cash. That's what I often recommend anyway. There are plenty of people who want ferrets that wouldn't need, say, the extra cage. I know when I got Ava (for free) she came with a FN 142, and I sold that once she was settled in, because having two FNs isn't always easy in an apt. lol They'll need their old food, their medications, vet records and a piece of two of their old bedding off the top of my head, but most else you can sell or donation usually without the next person needing the equipment.
If you're doing it for their protection, honestly, references, vet references, a home inspection and interview is the best way to ensure a good home. The money often doesn't matter.

*shakes her head, sighing* Thats going to get flagged and removed quickly... $250 is above Craigslist's asking limits, I think.

There is no definite limit on CL per se, but you are right. It will be flagged for sure. That's a very high adoption price. I, personally, wouldn't pay more than maybe $25 for a ferret that is not from a rescue or a breeder... especially if they're not vetted. Not sure. The OP doesn't say.

Actually, I think in the CL rules it says it cant go over a certain amount for a rehoming fee. Okay, maybe not, lol. I couldve sworn they had mentioned a limit. They do state "small rehoming fee", and $250 is not small. *sigh*
Its been removed too, heh.

Yeah, to me, small rehoming fee is a fraction of the costs that a breeder would charge. Say it is a Great Dane, maybe three years old. Well, a decent Great Dane puppy sells for between $1000-2500 maybe. So to me, the price should be no more than $100... and that's a high scenario for me... and all that money would go to a rescue.... but I probably would say I had a rehoming fee to deter bad people and then when the people checked out, I'd probably give them back the rehoming fee, whether in cash or a gift card or something...
