Hi Angie.... we got an email from our District Manager saying the Petco in Jonson City (Binghamton) was under water... she attached a picture of the store and it looked like the water was half way up the doors. They were trying to get ahold of the Police and Fire Dept. to see if they could get to the store cause of the animals. I have a feeling they are gong to find some dead. If their enclosures are the same as ours, then they are going to loose small animals, reptiles, birds and all the fish since the pumps will be dead.

Update.... I was told by 2 different people at work that our manager Mark and DM Ann are heading at some point to Binghamton to get what animals, reptiles and birds that are still alive and will be bringing them to our store... I'm hoping they don't find many dead... or none dead at all....

Update- me, mom, and a few others were called in at 7pm tonight to help clean up and check over all the animals that survived and were transported to our store. We all finally clocked out at 115am.
And because this is a ferret forum, is like to point out our little miracle ferrets that made it. 2 were in a glass tank in wellness and were spared from the water, but one was found clinging to the ceiling of the hex above a few feet of water.. all are well, and had baths and fluffy towels to play in.
We called in a vet to check each animal before we figured out where it could go. Everyone checked out ok, but we were put on a 48hr watch to make sure no one comes down with anything...

How did everyone make out with the flooding?? Me and fuzzies are safe... I spent two days on the ambulance in the rain fording small rivers which used to be streets in order to save people... they even used helicopters and the national guard in my area. Now Im horribly sick so Im hoping I will feel better shortly. Guess its a small price to pay when something this huge is going on. To give you a guys an idea of some of the stuff we were dealing with. This picture is from my first due coverage area. I think we have done more rescues this time then any other time in the past, the foolish things people were doing was at an all time high and there were def. some close calls that involved not only civilians but rescuers.

We also have some people that are stranded because all roads or bridges in and out to their homes are now unsafe or no longer there.
