This thread is for the Broward Ferret Rescue.
Website: www.browardferretrescue.org/
About them:
The Broward Ferret Rescue was founded in the year 2000, by Karen Riley and Dona Michaels. Based out of their homes, it remains a small no kill ferret shelter. Unfortunately in 2003, Karen had to leave the rescue leaving Dona as the soul head. This task could not have fallen on any greater shoulders. Still based out of her home, Dona has kept and maintained the shelter with the help of many people. Jane Ziemba, a wonderful woman who comes in and cares for the ferrets whenever she gets a chance. Michelle, who runs the sanctuary for the rescue from her home. There she cares for all the ailing ferrets who are not adoptable due to their illnesses. Sue who helps out with all the fundraisers, and Lori, for without her, we wouldn’t have most of our means of advertisement. The rescue also gets help from donations, and with that help the rescue continues to grow to this day.
Unfortunately, as the other Ferret Rescues around Southern Florida disappear, more and more ferrets come into our rescue. We carry an average of 30-40 ferrets which does not include the ones we have in foster homes, and the sanctuary. And even though we grow, we are always out there trying to get these wonderful animals a forever home.

My notes:
I got Kahlua from this rescue. I couldn't be any happier. Dona was wonderful to work with and she truely cares about all her rescues. I wish I could have taken them all home.
I was impressed with her knowledge and care. She welcomed Mojito into her home to choose his new buddy.
