I thought that someone could use this...... Please feel free to change it.....
So your thinking of adopting a ferret???
Do you really know about them?
These list of questions is just the basics on ferrets and you should do your own research. It is highly important that you use these links listed below to use your research.
1. Why do you want to adopt a ferret?
2. How long does a ferret live?
3. And are you willing to give this ferret a forever home?
4. Ferret must be fed a certain amount of protein in their diet. How much?
5. Please name some high protein food that are healthy for ferrets?
6. What is a good temperature for a ferret?
7. What is the highest temperature a ferret can live in?
8. Is your house ferret proofed?
9. Name a way to safely trim their nails?
10. How many times should you bathe a ferret and why?
11. How many hours of play should they have daily and why?
12. What is adrenal disease?
13. What is insolonomia?
14. Name other health issues that a ferret might have?
15. When not at home where will your ferrets be kept?
16. What are some ways to “discipline” your ferrets?
17. Why do ferrets shiver when they wake up?
18. What are some things that a ferret should never eat?
19. What is lethargic?
20. And what should you do if your ferret becomes lethargic?
21. What should you do if they become dehydrated?
22. Is Canine distemper fatal in ferrets?
23. How do you feel about getting vaccinations?
24. Will you provide the proper care and nutrition that ferrets need?
This is just some basic research. I neither am a veterinarian nor am I a rescue. I am simply a concerned owner for my pets. Answer these questions to the best of your ability. Please do your research before you say yes to adopting a ferret.
Ferrets make wonderful pets and are a joy to be around. They love to play but they need attention. They are not meant to be in a cage all the time. As you do your own researches please join forums and ask questions.
I still don’t know everything I should know! I’m still learning myself.
Thank you for your interest and I hope that you will enjoy ferrets as much as I have. At the bottom you will see some links that I use personally. Please feel free to join a forum and use some of their links. A forum is the best place to start looking for info on ferrets.
