Boy. I really do get mad at people. I was getting out the craigslist and I came acrossed this ad: Reply to: comm-285821191@craigslist.org Date: 2007-02-27, 10:01PM EST I bought a little baby ferret for my girlfriend about a week ago it cost me $129 plus I bought a big cage for 119.99 plus food water bowl and toys I spent more than $278 dollars all together she is not going to be able to take care of the ferret so I need to get rid of it, I am not going to charge for the ferret but I am charging $160 for what I spent on the cage and the food and toys and you can have it all. Location: Paterson it's NOT ok to contact this poster with services or other commercial interests  |

I cant belive that, People need to be more informed! You should NEVER buy someone an animal as a present! Never! Shelters will make that clear to you, stupid petstores man....They dont care they just want the profit. Let alone their employees dont give a crap either.

I can see a parent getting a animal for a child that has been begging for one. Uggh, people treat animals like a accessory. When it gets old they get rid of it. Drives me crazy!

There are plenty of wonderful shelters in NJ and if its truely a baby, it will get snatched right up. Its the older (+1 years old) ferrets that sit and wait for a home. I'd be more than happy to transport it to one of the shelters, but I can't add another one right now.

Granted I bought my 5 year old a kitten. But I don't expect her to take care of it. Although she does make sure the kitten has food and water all the time.

The guy is in Paterson. He wrote me back this morning.. he will not let the ferret go without the cage because he wants the money " i dont really charge for the ferret because i know i cant sell animals on craigslist let me know how much you are willing to pay and i'll give you the ferret and cage " ugh I feel so bad for this baby.. they probably arent paying any attention to it.. They are in the scary town of paterson.. haha... the things I do for ferrets! but they are just so darn cute!!!!!!  |

Thats what he said. Did you explain to him that you already have a cage. That maybe he can sell the cage seprately? |

Yes I told him that I have a cage bigger than the one he is selling for my 2 ferrets already that I do not need it.. and he said he doesnt want to separate the ferret from the cage! Ugh.. I offered him $50 for the ferret and told him he could probably make more selling the cage by itself.. we will see what he rights back.. Oh and he also doesnt know the age, sex, if its neutered.. anything! |

He doesnt care...He just wants money...I emailed him too....I want it too...but its a 2 hour drive....and I cannot afford the $160. I would love to take it but its just not practical for me right now....Paying that much driving that far and then having to dish out more money for the vet...im gonna have to wait a while before I get another
