TLH understands that there are certain circumstances where you can no longer care for your ferret. We now have the ferret classifies that you can post in to rehome your ferret. Please abide by the following rules:
This board is for rehoming ferrets, not selling them. A small adoption fee is acceptable. Please do not come on here expecting to get what you paid for.
Also, if you see a listing or have anyone email you about relocating a ferret you can post it in this section.
We will remove any post that violate that rule.
Thank you Crystal

I wish Petfinder had rules like yours as far as the "adoption/rehoming" fees...
I just found two ads on Petfinder for ferrets: one guy wanted $300 for his two ferrets b/c of all the accessories ("I have put about $500 into them altogether"), one was rehoming three ferrets for $225 obo (maybe it's just me, but "obo" makes it seem like he's auctioning his ferrets).
I guess they don't realize that more than likely, the person who ends up wanting to adopt the ferrets will not need the cage and all of the accessories.

People get themselves into a situation where they no longer want there fairly new pet. Then they want to make back what they put out. Well it's not going to happen here.

I saw someone on CraigsList use a great analogy for people wanting to get back what they put into an animal... It pretty much said that if you were going to sell your car, you wouldn't try to get back what you paid for gas, insurance and car repairs. I've argued before with people who have said they wanted money back for vet costs... When you get a pet/animal companion, it's your responsibility to spend the money on necessary vet visits, supplies, etc... It's not the new adoptee's responsibility to pay you back, as it isn't their fault you're in the situation to get rid of the animal. Anyways, sorry for rambling... Thanks to you and the other mods for running such a great forum

Has anyone adopted a rehomed ferret from another state? I want to know how the transporting works, I got an email from Ferrets Across American and my goodness all that red tape just to ship a ferret to a new home. I found two in las vegas i want to adopt but don't know how to get them here....
