We have just about had it with telling everyone on the forum to resize photos. It is one of my pet peeves yet members still continue to do it. Just because we have a auto-resizer does not mean that you all can continue to be lazy.
Starting today, We will not warn you anymore we will just REMOVE any pictures that are posted and not resized.
This goes for siggies too, we have informed all of you that they should be a certain size. No more pm's we will just remove it.
Thank you Crystal and TLH Staff

what is the max width for the forum table anyways? normally I drop my pictures down to like 25% of the original size before I post them and they still need to be shrunk down a bit more. if I know what the max width is, I'll make sure they dont go past that

640x480 is about the max before the table breaks.

Hi Crystal, I know boards have to have rules, and I always do my best to follow them and will of course try to follow this one, but I can't help wonder what the point of this one is I have just found that my Competition picture had been deleted several days after I posted it, hence I was not looking at my post any more and nearly missed it completely, as there were others after it before you modified it. I just wondered what the actual reason for this is. My computer displays at some ridiculously large resolution, so when pictures are only 640, they are very tiny on the screen. OK my problem I know, but surely, if the board has auto resizing, it is there for people, who unlike me, are not lucky enough to have large resolution screens. My picture was by no means excessively big, as I tend to make them around 800 for my Web site. So basically, What is the downside to the board auto-resizing the pictures? and why do they have to be so small, when they are not actually being hosted on here. Cheers

The reason why there is a picture size rule is because the larger photos break the forum table which causes a tollbar at the bottom to scroll.

Is my siggie too big? I remember the post about the pics, but not the size of the siggie. If it is, I will resize it.

Do you know, even looking at pages with pictures that are the wrong size, I can not see the issue with the bottom toolbar. Does it only happen in IE, as I use Firefox. Just wondering

Just wondering It might be the fact that ive got a 19" LCD, but I run IE and ive never seen tables break even with outrageously big pictures.. Not that I have a problem resizing, it takes all of 3 seconds to do it, but ive never seen the table breaks myself.. (on other forums, not just here. I know other forums dont have the nifty resize thingy)

I know other forums dont have the nifty resize thingy) I guess I am the same as you, My display resolution is 1680 x 1050, a 640 picture almost hides behind my cursor. My only real reason for questioning it, was on the Website, I tend to put pictures on there at 800 wide, so it is frustrating having to put them up there twice. Now we know, and someone has actually put a size on it, it only takes a second to adjust, I still do not really understand why, if the re-sizer is there, it can't be used, but Que sera, sera, the boss lady says No, and being married, I know not to argue, in fact, I can feel those heavy sighs as she reads the post already

Some photos that are large take a longer time to load therefor the resizer will be delayed causeing the break in the forum. I have a 17" monitor and it still does it.
