So my friend and I have been rescuing animals for a while and helping them find appropriate homes. We only rescue a handful a year and care very deeply for these pets.
However, my friend has encountered a legal battle with a long story that resulted in the eviction of her 14 personal rats.
She has just two left that need homes, and we want great homes for them.
Hickory is a blue blazed berkshire dumbo with a chip in one of his ears. I personally rescued and rehomed him to my partner nearly one year ago. He is approximately 1 1/2 years.
He is very sweet and will brux for you on your shoulder if you give him yogies. He is, however, cage aggressive, and will not accept another rat... nor does he really want you in his cage. He never bites though, he used to nip, only when in the cage. We think it had to do with the anguish of losing his brother and cagemate (who died before the rescue) and was then relocated less than 24 hours after his brother's death. He no longer nips, but the stress of a new home may make him mouthy for a little while, FYI.
Gimli is a variegated blue standard. He cannot be kept with Hickory, but is used to having male cagemates. He had around five other male rats living with him. He is currently living with his last cagemate, Bucky, for now until Bucky reaches his furrever home that has already been chosen and in the process of finalizing. Gimli is shy and not as accustomed to being touched. He will need a little more help. Gimli was a pet store rat and is approximately one year old.
They both would come with temporary housing (they will need better cages).
They have an asking adoption fee of $10 for each, $15 for both (housed seperately), but for the right home from The Lazy Hammock, we could work something out if neccessary.
Please contact me for further info if interested. These guys really need homes, and they were the sweetest of the bunch! You can email, PM me or reply to this post.
Thanks!
