Just got back from the Vet with Sammy The Survivor and it appears that his tail will have to be amputated. The damage and the chance of the infection spreading was too great. The Doc feels that it should be done ASAP so he will go in on Thursday. It looks very painful so the doc gave him some pain meds and started on a larger dose of the antibiotic. Please keep Sammy in your thoughts.

I hope Sammy has a speedy recovery, poor little guy!  We will all be keeping him in our thoughts! He has been through so much, but at the same time he is very very lucky to have you and Evelyn as his parents! Get well Sammy!!!!  |

Good luck to Sammy. My Valder sends the mesage that being tailless isnt so bad, once it heals people will think you twice as cute with your stubby little tail!

I was visiting at K & E's house last night and Sammy is doing great. In fact, Evelyn said that he's acting as if nothing even happened to him. He is dancing and dooking and doesn't seem to be feeling any pain. K & E and the fuzzies have gone through so much and this just goes to show the strength and will they all have to persevere. You go guys!!! We are all routing for you and praying for you every day. |

Yeah Sammy!!!! Makes me wonder if he had nerve damage and didn't know it was even there except for the pain?

Sammy is fine... Even WITH the "Half (no pun intended) Naked" tail!!!
He and Irwin are slowly "snapping out of it" emotionally, with Sammy
being the better of the two. Irwin is a bit more "bumbed" than Sam.
And Charger is another story... He is being a bit of a bully with Irwin.
But we suspect that Sammy will take care of that sooner or later - LOL.
We will see them this w/e. Might even bring the boys with us as well.

It's good to hear they are all PERKING up after what they've been through. Might be good to have some 'stranger' ferrets to mix them up a bit. Nothing like having to defend the home turf!
