Last night was the first time I have met with the Houston Area Ferret Association. Heck, it was my first time to ever meet a large group of ferret owners. And all I can say is that it was awesome. I mean, it is great to talk to the wonderful people on this board, but there is just something about meeting so many people who share my passion face to face. I was always hesitant about going to one of the meetings ever since I saw that special on PBS. I mean, I love my fuzzbutts, but I don't think I will ever be making or singing a song about them...not that there is anything wrong with that. I guess I was just afraid I would be surrounded by crazy people...and I kind of was. But they are my kind of crazy people. ;D So I guess I am saying to everyone out there who has the same fear as me about joining one of these groups, I say go for it. It will be worth it.

you know I think most people would find a fuzzy lover strange, so being amoung similar persons makes the others seem strange and us normal.

i always get strange looks once i say i have ferrets. and there are certain outspoken people that will come right out and say "you dont look like you would own a pet like that" people really do expect ferret owners to be odd and freakish... perhaps with a tail themselves. its nice when you meet other "normal" people that share your love for ferrets. (dont worry, i include spike collars in the normal range)
