What a stupid person. They are probably getting divorced because they are a jerk.
Male Cockatoo

9 yr old male Umbrella. Comes with x-large cage perches, food and water bowls and replacement blocks for toys. Has been dna sexed and tested for all avian disease (all neg). He is not a plucker nor a screamer.
Going through a divorce and limited on funds. I just can't afford to give him the proper care he needs.
Asking $800 for all but will consider best offer. Keep in mind, you are getting bird, cage, and accessories. I gave $1500 for the bird alone and then had to purchase everything else. Plus pay for all the testing ( $300 for that). You are getting a great deal with all that is included.
Please email me with a number I can get in contact with you. And please do not email or call me with some sob story that you don't have the money. I'm only rehoming him for this fee because I need the money. If it wasn't a money issue with me then he wouldn't be up for adoption.
Location: Cheyenne Blvd area it's NOT ok to contact this poster with services or other commercial interests

Preferably the oldest, he is 16 years old (will be 17 in July), he knows how to drive, which is great if you need someone to do running for you, or even chaffeur you around! He is in great physical condition and can handle heavy objets, etc. But he is pretty dirty, he never cleans up after himself, and he talks back. But I'm willing to give you a GREAT deal here! He comes with all his stuff too! Oh, and I have NEVER met a cockatoo that wasn't a screamer at some time or another.

Hey, I had one that I would have sold as well when he was younger. I thought about asking $1000.00 for him, after all he knew everything there ever was to know and never did anything wrong. Sorry about the hijack.

$800 is def a deal for the bird and everything he is giving with the bird.
Sucks he has to get rid of his bird. For 800 he is practically giving everything away.

Gods! I rather see an animal be adopted out because they admit they can no longer care for them rather than make them suffer and give them poor care because they can't afford it just to "keep them". Anyone ever thought maybe his wife is wringing him dry for everything he's worth? Divorce can be nasty. Some people take things too harshly.
I would -hate- to have to give up my pets if for some reason things crash and we can no longer afford them. I'd try family first, luckily I have a large family. If no family could take them... I would rather see them go to a good home that can care for them than watch them suffer as I struggle. If I had the $800 to spare and could afford the upkeep I'd jump at that change.. and if I wanted a Cockatoo but they are too needy of birds for me, from what I hear. Same reason why my friend won't get one and she has a bunch of parrots.

And for a umbrella cockatoo, that is a deal.

I just thought his attitude was mean. I'm sure he has his reasons, but even if I was hard up I wouldn't sell my pets for dirt cheap for money. I'd adopt them out if I couldn't care for them any more, and sell the other stuff that wasn't living or breathing if I needed money.
