I have two pairs coming in, 2 found as strays that are at animal control, and another pair that are under a year old. Guys wife is allergic to them. And I have a single ferret, 4-5 months old coming in tomorrow. Kids won't take care of it and mom has her hands full with the dog and cat.

I'll put them on my website under the adoptables once I get appts. set up for shots and ADV testing.
When it rains, it pours!! (Literally, we've had tons of rain here!)

Well, I went to Animal Control to pick up the two strays and came home with one. They are older ferrets, female is def. adrenal but otherwise in good shape. Both silver mitts, apparently dumped by the side of the road.
The male was seizing when I picked them up. Not screaming seizures, but was having tremors and the 'spaced' out look. Had several in a row. I, along with the vet on staff, made the decision to help him to the bridge.
This is the part about sheltering I hate. Damn who ever left them on the side of the road.

Awww... that's sad. I don't understand how people could ever do that - just dump them on the side of the road when there's so many other places to take them. I'm a firm believer in what goes around comes around - that jackass will get their's in the end.

I feel certain that poor boy had insulinoma. That along with the little girl being adrenal is more than likely why they got dumped. Poor babies.

It's terribler that someone dumped them but I'm glad you were able to help. Hopefully you will have nice adoptees to give them a good home.

How could people do such a thing? Its not as if its hard to give a pet to a shelter if you can no longer care for it... you don't even have to say its your pet if you're embarressed or ashamed. Good luck to all the fuzzies and I hope that they find new homes!

She's beautiful! Stupid people..........just stupid, stupid people. This kind of stuff really gets to me! Sorry to hear about the little boy. Thankfully though he is at peace. At least there were people at the end that cared about him. Bless you Connie!

what an angelic face. bet shes a sweetie too? yes, she is a sweetie. Loves human attention. Now that she's had her shots, I'll start interacting with her a bit more. Vet said she's in good health other than being adrenal and having ear mites.

the others are doing great. The lady that was supposed to come this weekend to leave a deposit on the baby ferret is a no call/no show so I'll remove the application pending on her petfinder listing. But I have no doubt she'll be adopted quickly.
