The Concerned Ferret Owners Rescue would like to thank all those that came out to help with the clean up, giving of shots, nail clipping and, and ear cleaning last Sunday! In addition Lisa brought baby receiving blankets and Keith did a run for me to the vets for some revolution. Thank goodness for a running tab! It was quite an endeavor, especially with the ones who were not as happy to be handled. We have currently 17 ferrets from Ohio plus 5 that I will be transporting (meeting) with a Maryland shelter. I have scheduled the males to go in tomorrow to Lyndurst Animal hospital to get fixed as well as two females. One who is going to Maryland and one who is just coming into season. Another girl was showing signs of stress but I removed another female who we believe to have a cataract and a genetic eye anomaly was causing havoc in the cage. This has seemed to have alleviated the problem, but I am bring her in anyway as her teeth are in need of looking after. Keith a CFO member and Carol S our vice president Will be helping me out tomorrow as well, thank goodness to try and expedite the process. I would also like to thank Beth from Roger's Rescue (a dog rescue) who adopted Bandit from about a week ago for helping last Friday come for the two hours plus it takes to clean the cages. Lyndhurst Animal Hospital stepped up to the plate when I spoke about the situation and the Dr. and I worked out the best fee/payment plan possible. In addition we have 16 other wonderful ferrets up for adoption : ) If anyone would like to donate to these animals that would be wonderful! We are a 501 (c) 3 so your donations are tax exempt as allowable by law. You can send food, or gift cards from Pets Smart as the have been very helpful or of course a monetary donation. A check can be written to Concerned Ferret Owners or to Lyndurst Animal Hospital, but to get the tax break it must be to CFO.
