Me too...I would go get him out if I could but theres no way I can get there before Saturday. PACCA/Paws is always so full, and I hate going in there because they always have every cage full and they are a pretty high kill shelter so its like I'm watching these wonderful dogs/cats/rabbits on death row. I hate it hate it hate it I hope someone can help this little guy!

I have sent an email to Oxford's director to see if she can get this guy outta there. Will keep you posted. If she is willing to find this little guy a home, I can pick him up before he is PTS. This really is a high kill shelter and they dont hold animals long. I have my hands full with my three, so I cannot adopt him, but I'm willing to hold him until someone is able to pick him up from the Philly area.

I talked with her and she said she would take him. I believe she said that she called them. I am sending you a PM with her cell phone number on it.

Ok, Claudia received the following email from someone there and it looks like another rescue group got him the day before. Here is the email she received.
Hi Claudia,
Luckily for the ferret, he was picked up yesterday by another ferret rescue group. Since you do sound like an ideal ferret caretaker, I'd like to keep your email if I may, so I can let you know if/when other ferrets arrive at the shelter. I am not sure how often they are brought in (I am a new volunteer) but I do know that they won't stay healthy long once they arrive--the shelter staff is really afraid of them, and that means they don't get much care.
Let me know if it's okay with you for me to keep you on my contact list, and thank you so much for caring about these animals !
Peace, Mia
I am just very glad the boy is outta there.

I'm glad he was rescued! I feel bad for all the animals that end up at that shelter

Well we are the contact for any ferrets that enter now. How sad that even the volunteers say how badly an animal is treated there. Just makes me sick to my stomach to thing about the poor babies there that never had a chance. Cruel world we live in!

I know, PACCA is really one of the worst shelters around. It's been plagued with problems and high kill rates for years. And I hate saying that because I feel so bad for the animals there but to be honest the volunteers are very rude in my experience, the animals poorly taken care of and diseases run rampant and they are always bursting at the seams. So many of the animals, especially pits (which they are full of btw) and kittens never make it out of there. I know that they've been trying to improve (I think they have a new director maybe?)but its slow going. It's so sad that these innocent animals have to suffer for no reason
