dallas.craigslist.org/pet/342189941.htmlFerret needs new home Reply to: comm-342189941@craigslist.org Date: 2007-05-31, 3:52PM CDT My situation is changing and I am unable to properly take care of my friend Buddy as well as I would like. Buddy is nearly 6 months old and just went through his adult growth spurt. He's extremely playful and energetic. I would like it if he could go to a home with other ferrets to play with, but it is not necessary. I am asking for $100 for re-homing which includes his cage and other accouterments. Please use the reply to address, but if you must contact me at faltion @ gmail . com Location: Denton

I used to look at the Craigs list ads in the Austin area and have even offered to take in some of the ferrets. However, being a shelter, I will not 'buy' the ferret. The "adoption fee" most ask is just a way for them to get some money out of it. Most are not up to date on shots. Of all the ones I've offered to take in the shelter, almost all of them are unwilling to surrender unless I pay their 'adoption' fee. So I try to compromise and tell them I'll pay it if they take it to the vet, and the answer is always no.
So I don't look anymore. If I see some 'ferret wanted' ads, I'll do a post letting people know I have ferrets for adoption and stress that the ferrets are vetted and ADV tested.

Yeah, it would cost me $65 dollars to bring the fuzz up to date on shots, ADV tested, checked out and a fecal. my vet is super cheap though.
