There's a woman I have been talking with who lives in Lake Station. IN. She has an albino, male ferret. He doesn't come with a cage, because he has free roam(I think that's what she said). He's 1 1/2 years old and he comes with a carry cage, a backpack to carry him around in, food bowl, litter and a litter box. She was asking $50 on her craigslist post, but she told me that she's willing to give him away for free to a good home. So, if anyone here lives nearby and is willing to offer him a good home, send me a PM or email and I will give you her email address so you can contact her. Please help this little guy out! She's going to send me a pic later today. I'll post it as soon as she sends it to me!

ahhhhhhh! Lake Station is one town over from me. Literally 10 minutes away. I will try to convince my husband, but I have a feeling he will say no. He sure is a cutie. Do you know if he gets along with other ferrets and what if any medical info?

I'm not sure about all those details, however, I will PM you the woman's email address and phone # so you can contact her. If you email her she will answer back really fast. I would recommend putting "FERRET" in the subject line though. I do know for a fact that he gets along well with dogs because she has 3 of them. That's also why she is rehoming him, because her larger dog(the other 2 are chihuahuas) is being really rough with the ferret and she's scared he may end up hurting Mastewy, so she's rehoming him. If you live nearby then I'm sure she would be more then willing to let you come over and meet him. Good luck and keep us all posted! I hope you can help poor little Mastewy!

I would just like to update you all that I ended up taking in Mastewy yesterday. With the help of one of the Greater Chicago Ferret Association volunteers I was able to get him transported to me. The volunteer who picked him up and drove him most of the way to me informed me that the owner of Mastewy intended to have him put to sleep today because she just left for Vegas. She did not tell me that, so it's a darn good thing that the volunteer(her name is Tina, BTW) was able to help when she did or it would have been too late for Mastewy. I have changed his name to Uno(since he only had one day left to live). He's super skinny and super stubborn, lol. thankfully he started eating the food I gave him immediately and I didn't have to force feed him like the last ferret I took in. He is skin and bones(poor baby) and only weighs 2lbs 4oz, but he's the same size as my other ferret that weighs over 3lbs! I found out that the woman would feed him whatever cat food was on sale. Ugh! Well, he's super happy to be in his new home with people that care about him, hoever this is only a temporary home. I cannot keep him(ya'll know how hubby feels about albinos, lol) so if there is anyone out there that is interested in him and lives nearby, let me know. I live in Addison, Il(NW suburbs of Chicago). Uno isn't going anywhere and if he gets adopted, I'll let ya'll know. So, if this post is still open, even if it's months later, and I have not posted saying he was taken, then that means he's still available. In the meantime, I will be taking him to get vet checked and to get his shots. I'll let ya'll know if anything happens.

Well, I have to fatten him up, get him ihs shots, and make sure he's healthy before he goes to a new home, but I hope he's ready soon cause he's destroying my carpets, lol. I guess he's used to getting what he wants cause if I block him off from somewhere then he'll go crazy til he's allowed in. I'm trying the "squirt gun method", but it doesn't seem to be helping. Oh well, gotta love ferrets! lol.
Just try and spread the word, ok?
Oh yeah, just a warning: I will NOT adopt him out to someone who is a newbie to the forum, unless you can prove to me that you have been a longtime member of another ferret forum first. I say that because I've had a few people in the past join a forum just to contact me and ask if they can have Uno. These people have no clue about ferrets, don't have a cage, and only want him cause he's "cute". Sorry, but I will not even respond to people like that. Uno will be going to someone who is experienced or who can at least prove to me that they've done their homeorrk and are serious about wanting a ferret.
Sorry if I offend anyone, but I just want to may sure that Uno does not end up in the same situation as before, I hope you can understand.

Uno will have a new home next week! There's a woman who lives nearby and she already has 2 ferrets of her own. I went over yesterday and we had a ferret "play date". Uno got along wonderfully with her ferrets and her ferrets are super healthy, they have a nice big cage, and the woman is really nice. I will also be able to see him alot, which is a major plus! So, I just thought I'd let ya'll know that he's finally going to have a permanent home.

Update: Uno ended up getting sick and wouldn't eat. His weight went all the way down to 1 1/2lbs! It took me a couple weeks, but now he is all better and slowly creeping up to 2 1/2lbs. Seems like Uno didn't want to go, lol. During this past month he has won over my heart and I have decided to keep him. Here's a pic of him:
