dallas.craigslist.org/pet/356687983.htmlSuper fun ferret needs a new home Reply to: comm-356687983@craigslist.org Date: 2007-06-20, 8:13PM CDT I'm looking to rehome my ferret. Her name is Mookie, and she comes with everything she needs for an adoption fee of $100. If we can't find her a home by this weekend, I'll be taking her to a ferret rescue group. Location: north dallas Connie,I think this would be your department!

This person may be referring to the shelter in Dallas, Texas Ferret Lover's Rescue.

I would assume so also, and it is a VERY good rescue IMO!

They will NOT give her $100.00 to take it in.They should charge her to get it up to date on shots and tested.

I don't 'pay' for ferrets either, and I require that the cage come with it. I also don't allow folks to come to the shelter for surrenders, I meet them somplace since the shelter is in my home. If they can't transport the cage, I tell them it's a $50 surrender fee so I can update the shots and ADV test. a lot of times they don't like that, but then again I don't want make it easy for them to get another ferret by letting them keep their cage, and maybe they'll think twice before getting another pet.

Connie, makes a lot of sense! Do you meet people for adoptions too? The broward ferret rescue is run through the ladies house. But she invites you there to choose a ferret.

For adoptions, people come to my home. But I require they fill out an application first, and I do check to make sure the info they give me is correct. It's really more of a safety issue since I have a child (ok, he's 15 and not really a youngster but I still worry) and my husband is out of town a lot.
