OMG!! That is just awful!! Does she not know they are sick? And going through a divorce means nothing when it comes to pets. I am going through a divorce and I have 4 fuzzies, 2 cats, and 1 dog and I'm not putting any of them up for adoption!! I'm not even letting my husband take any of them with him; they stay in my home with me!!!
This just makes me so angry!!! You divorce your wife or husband; not your pets. How can she even ask for money when these poor babies need immediate medical attention. I am so sick to my stomach right now; I should have never clicked the link!!!
The ASPCA should step in for this one!!!

Isn't there anything we can do? Call the police, call a local ferret shelter, call the local Humane Society. Even that, might be better then letting those two continue to be in what is obviously a horrible situation. They are breaking my heart! OMG what is wrong with people!

I live in NJ and I'm just a few towns away from Keith. This is definitely a situation where I would ask for his advice. I know that FNFR is very maxed out with fuzzies right now and they just picked up those additional 6 on Monday and every one of them needs immediate medical attention and / or surgery so it would be very tough for Keith to take any additional fuzzies in right now, which is way I haven't asked him about these 3 fuzzies yet. However, I will send him an email and ask him what we can do. Maybe he can steer me in the right direction regarding phone numbers of places to call to have someone step in. I will send Keith an email right now and I will keep you posted.

Message from Keith: He is definitely aware of this situation and is working on contacting the woman but he wants to be sure it gets done the right way. It is a horrible situation for those fuzzies but please do not contact the woman through CL as they don't want to scare her off. Keith will post more as soon as he knows (or if he's still running around crazy like usual I will post after I speak to him later tonight) Please keep these little ones in your thoughts and prayers and that Keith can make contact with this woman and take care of this situation as soon as possible.

Thanks for the info. He is the man!!! That's why I wanted to speak to him and ask for his opinion. If anyone can get this lady to surrender the fuzzies; it's Keith. We will keep praying.

FN if you have room I am sure you will find a wonderful home for these sweeties! I also have a friend in the same area as this lady that is working on contacting the lady as well! She would be interested.

I don't know what has happened but the listing has been deleted. We had asked Carol to post that we were pursuing this and I do need to know if anyone has attempted to contact this woman and heard back from her. The fuzzies that were listed were adopted from Father Natures a year ago and she is bound by contract to return them here. If anyone has heard from her please let us know so we can get these babies the help they need. Do not let the woman know we are wise to what she is doing please. The phone on her application has been disconnected so we need help. Thank You Keith

You know, I can NEVER understand how these people that give up fuzzies claim "they can't go with me where I am moving". Unless it's a state that doesn't allow ferrets. My husband and I have always rented and we NEVER had a problem bringing our ferrets. We just tell them they are in cages most of the time (what they don't know will NEVER hurt them) and we have never had a problem. And if you are expecting maintainence, just make sure you put them away until the maintainence is finished and leaves. Very simple. Me thinks these people just don't want to be bothered anymore with the sick ones and use that as a "oohhh, feel sorry for me" excuse. There is NO excuse.
Now if it was St. Bernard, I could see....but 3 tiny little ferrets? Give me a break!!!
Makes my blood boil! I hope someone can help them. Damn, I wish I had more room.

Guys, I don't know what happened but we should have let Keith take care of this. He is the expert and if anyone can talk someone into surrendering; it's Keith. He was working on this and now this person is gone and these fuzzies are in very bad condition. I am really upset about this; I can't get the image of those poor fuzzies out of my head. It's good to communicate and network in an effort to save the fuzzies, but let's face it...if we aren't going to let someone qualified take over, our threads are pointless. I don't want it to seem like I'm blaming anyone for this woman's disappearance. Obviously this woman thought she could get away with selling sick ferrets and once someone caught her she ran as fast as she could; she is the only one that can really take the blame and she has to live with herself!! Like I said, this post was not meant to place blame on anyone but I am extremely upset! I just hope we can find her again soon and save the fuzzies!

Keith just sent you a PM - not sure if you were able to get in touch with the lady? The friend in NJ that I had forwarded the e-mail to said she has sent e-mails, but the lady has not responded. Did you hear anything???

We were at FN's last night. So... As of last night...
Keith has e-mailed her (as her phone # is disc.) TELLING her to contact him!!! As he said earlier, these ferrets were adopted FROM FN's, and (*as per contract*) they must surrender BACK to FN's. Keith IS working on this, and will do EVERYTHING in his power to get them back. He (or we) will give an update as soon as there IS one.
For now, just keep your fingers crossed!!!
Later, Matt K.

I am not trying to argue here! Per the contract they should go back to FN! The point is they never should have been listed on CL! The ad when posted said nothing about they came from FN and I had no way of knowing so. I forwarded the ad to a friend who lives very near to the lady and is a very knowledgeable ferret person. At any rate her concern was for the little albino that looks like she needs some help. The little face just stuck in her mind and she wanted to help. She just wanted to make sure they were out of there. If that ment she got them paid a fee and transported them to a shelter, kept them as personals, or whatever needed to happen. She was just really worried!!! Especially since she has tried to make contact with the lady and got no replies.
When I realized that these ferrets came from FN (thanks to this board) I forwarded that info to the friend. She has tried to contact Keith directly as well.
Really her concern at this point as I think everyones is - is to make sure that the ferrets get the attention they need regardless of who provides it. She just wants to make sure they got somewhere end of story!!!!

Maybe she took down the post because she found a home for them, or maybe she decided to keep them. Just a thought.

I was wondering if there are any updates on the little ones.... Can't you contact the police or someone in order to find their contact info?

I couldn't view the posting but am still appauled at someone who could even think of selling a pet that is ill, much less one that you adopted through a shelter. I am with tied, are there any updates Keith? Let us know.
