We just received a beautiful and gentle little sable boy. We named him Charger because Fizzle feels a good strong name will help. He is not able to use his back legs and has a very poor appetite. We are flooding him with Father Natures Duck Soup. He seems to dive right in but runs out of steam quickly. He reminds me of Fizzle, and our boy Lucky that has gone to the bridge. We have 5 adrenals on the list and funds are tight. We have put everything on hold for Charger. One way or another he WILL see the specialist tomorrow, even if I have to go door to door. I always have faith in the power of this group. My TLH family is always here for us, so please lets put Charger in our prayers and do whatever is in your power to help start this year off with a winner named Charger. Matt will post some pics soon. Thanks to everyone. Keith

I will be keeping Charger in my thoughts and praying for him to get his "umpf" back. I remember when Mr. Fizzle came into your home not able to use his back legs and we didnt know if that was going to be his forever life... but now, he runs around as if he never had any problems! he maneuvers up and down the Ferret Nation cage just as well as the other 2 fuzzies and sleeps in the hammock with them. I know if it wasnt for the care of Father Natures and all the medical needs he needed... well... i know the outcome would have been a lot different. Charger is in good hands now. I know times are tough all over, and with the holidays just ending... pockets are kinda empty. I hope you can raise money not only for Charger, but for the other fuzzies that need adrenal surgery.

As per Keith's request... Here is Charger. He is a beautiful BIG (or should be) sable sweetie. Going by the size of his head and paws, he should be at least a 3 lb. bruiser...but he ISN'T right now. Unfortunately he doesn't have that "bright eyed" look, but that is quite understandable, given his condition. We were on a tight schedule this morning, so I was only able to snap a few pics, give him a kiss and hug, and off to Petco for an awareness & fundraiser day. Please send some good thoughts Charger's way, for a hopeful recovery this New Year. Thanks in advance for any thoughts, prayers and help for this precious little one. Matt K.

Hi Keith...Do you still have any Folidreen left ? If not, gimme a ring, and I will send you a new bottle today. I think it could help him just be looking at him. I have seen that look before, and it breaks my heart. On an optimistic note, hind end weakness can simply be a result of malnutrition & anemia. Prayers for the little man. Keep us posted. We are thinking of him.

OMG! Keith, my heart is breaking for this poor baby. I am so upset right now. I will give you a call in a little bit, when I gather my composure. I'll talk to you about this, you know I will do what I can.
Sincerely, Lorri

I have had a few that have come in with that look adn hind end weakness... 2 of them turned out to be severe earmite infestation, causing neurological issues... both recovered after Revolution and anti-biotics... plus lots of duck soup...
Charger is in my thoughts... hopefully good news will be soon coming...

1-07-09 Update...Chargers bloodwork came back as expected, low values where they should be higher and higher where they should be lower. Blood sugar confirmed at only 65 and all the signs of mal nutrition. The Doc doesn't want to start Pred just yet due to the liver values and has placed him on some meds to work on that. His appetite for our Duck Soup has gone way up and he is moving away from his bedding to do his business. We are thrilled at that as it is a normal color, not the black tarry look as before. He is urinating a little more and perks up when he sees us come to his cage. We are still keeping him on strict bedrest and will address the hind end weakness after we get him a little stronger and his weight up higher. Thank you to everyone that sent funds to help and prayers which help as well. He still has us worried to distraction but seems to be responding to his medication better then the other fuzzies we have had come in, in the same condition. Please keep him in your thoughts and prayers to give him the will to fight to stay with us. Thanks to all, Keith and Evelyn

I am happy to hear he is perking up...BTW...dosage of Folidreen is 1 ml, 2x per day-12 hrs apart to have the best results.
Thank the stars that Charger has found angels like you & Evelyn. What a lucky little boy.

Hey FN... How is Charger doing? I have been thinking about him day & night. The package should have made it's way there by now...If you have any Q's regarding dosage, or anything else, I will be home this evening. Also, you can reach me via mobile over the weekend, as my flight leaves at 6:05am tomorrow. I hope he is continuing to get well. Give him a kiss on his little nose for me !

Charger has remembered that there are people that love him. He told me so, as he ran past me ON ALL FOUR PAWS yesterday with a mouthful of kibble and stopped just long enough as if to say I can do it Poppa. He is doing so much better and getting stronger every day. It is bittersweet to watch him as he reminds us so much of our little angel Murray. The sparkle is definitely back in Chargers eyes and thank you everyone that sent him strength. FN
