OMG.....many tears as I read this. I am not sure how I will be helping, but I will be. What size clothes do they need? Any details like this will help. I am so very sad for them and their lil friends. So not fair. Why do things like this happen such wonderful people? I am just dumbfounded and sorry!

OK.... I'ts been a really crappy day!!!
I just got home from Father Nature's. It sickens me to have to keep you all posted... But I must... Cause in small AND big ways, you are ALL a part of FNFR.
(Sorry for the grim realities of this update... But it is what it is!!!)
Today, at 4am, we lost 25 fuzzbutts... 3 survived, and are fine!!! Charger, Samson & Irwin are now in "temporary" care. Charger is one of our recent rerscues (found in a parking lot), and Sam & Irwin are 2 of K & E's "personals".
Keith & Evelyn are fine... physically that is. Their hearts are SHATTERED!!!
I personally (with Keith's dad) went to the house and retrieved all 25 ferts, as it was impossible for Keith to (he tried, but couldn't). The firemen made sure to get all they could find out of the house and into the yard for us, as we were not allowed in the house (unsafe). Well according to Keith's records, we are fairly certain that we got ALL of them. I was sure to give loving to EVERY SINGLE ONE, as I made the count. The police officer on guard, who was backing up my count, was in tears, as was I. But we do what we have to do!!! I then assured K & E that we got all of them, and I took them over to Dr. M's, where they will go to be creamated. They will be done as a group, with the exception of Little Dude and Yogi (one of their first). This was THE hardest thing I have ever had to do, but they all deserved a personal hands on "good bye". That is what Keith asked of me!!!
So that is it for now... I will try to update periodically... I know that Keith won't be able to post for a while, but sends out many thanks to any and everyone who has responded to this tragic event.
Thank You, Matt Kostyk

Matt...I wish I had the words, (which I usually do), but today- I have no words to express the diamond of a man you are. Next time you see your mom, give her a kiss for me.

Rose, I'm fighting back the tears. I'm only a few miles away from Keith and Evelyn. I wear a petite 2. I think Evelyn is thinner than I am, but a little taller. If she wears my size, I have way more clothing than I can ever wear and would be happy to share. Let me know.

I've posted a help request on Facebook under our ferret community. I try to raise some money in a way or another..I...I don't even know what to say, it's just too much. I know I am new here but reading about them so often, I really feel part of the family too.
I really hope to wake up tomorrow and realize this was just a big nightmare.

I am so devasted for Keith and Evelyn...my heart is breaking. I don't understand how something like this can happen to such wonderful people and precious babies. I will definitely send a donation and will post on CL for my area to see if I can get more help. My thoughts are with them and their sweet angels.

Perhaps someone close could contact a local television station or paper and ask if perhaps they would run a story about Keith and Eveyln's rescue and all the work they do to educate the community and help the fuzzies. Maybe a memorial fund could be set up from other's who would like to help them rebuild.
I attended or SAFE meeting today and asked for moment to reflect on all the lost fuzzies. Rick our shelter founder was deeply sadened, he truly knows and understands how Keith and Evelyn have lost more then a home...they lost part fo their family.

I feel for Keith and Evelyn right now. It's making fight back tears and sick to my stomach to think of all and whom they have lost. I don't know what to say. I'll try to help out as much as I can.

OMG - that is just awful!!!! Poor FN & MN! Keith cried with me at Dr. M's when our Monty wasn't doing well -- I can't even imagine how hard this is for him! What would be more helpful to them, A FN Cage or $$$?

I've been trying to find any stories on it across the net, but none thus far. Since you all have contacted the locals recently, hopefully they'll get on that. Does anyone know exactly what happened or how bad the damage is? I know things like this are never easy, but I hope that Keith and Evelyn can on their feet as smoothly and as fast as possible. I'm thankful that Keith, Evelyn and the three fuzzies are all okay.

Rose and Matt - I'd just like to say that Keith and Evelyn are truly blessed to have the two of you for friends. Seeing the way the two of you jumped right in to help really restores my faith in human nature.

words can not express how devastating such a loss can be. tomorrow will be another horrible day for them, but knowing they have so many friends behind them hopefully will ease their pain if only just a little bit.
a little info for clothes donations
Keith wears a size 38/32 pants and a XL shirt Evelyn wears sizes 2-4 but has been known to wear a size larger in pants with drawstrings if she has to (insert smile)
tomorrow i will be taking Mr. Fizzle for a visit, along with some clothes for Evelyn, and some shirts for Keith. They are only about 5 minutes from me... i will make sure to give them hugs from all of you.

Money, clothes, stuff to get them back on their feet... as it stands the 3 fuzzies who made it are being cared for, so I wouldnt worry about cages just yet....
