We will be showing for the first time at this show as well. I already paid all our fees. They all will be entering the companion class and the senorita/senor (or however its spelled) ferret. Moony in addition will be entering the champagne and point categories. Nymphadora will be entering the albino/DEW and padfoot will be entering the sable. My mom (uc1gr8tgal) will be attending as well to help me manage the monsters. We are hoping to arrive at 8 am so we can get a decent spot to set up the playpen and our chairs. We are bringing some movies to watch, lots of money for all the booths and raffles (I have never been to this particular one... but I was to the one in york and there were so many booths and raffles I didnt take enough money) Angie had recommended to us on a different thread to take a lunch with you, just fyi. So we are almost all set and ready to go! We will be wearing our Lazy Hammock t-shirts as well, everyone can feel free to come up and say Hi and meet our fuzzies.

Hopefully will make it, at least for a little while. I just sent for my shirts, I tend to be oblivious sometimes depending on the situation so at least you all can yell hey if you see me first!

We are leaving Groton, CT Friday night. It is about an 4 1/2 hour drive. Not sure which hotel we are staying at yet, probably Motel 6 or Comfort Inn. Show on Saturday and then driving back to CT that night. I'm bringing FFP's Munchlet Eins. We are signed up for Alter and Sable. Say Hi!

I'm so going to try to be there (and drag the boyfriend along with me)! Coming from Western Connecticut (it's really weird to me to have to say what part of CT I'm from since we're such a small state, lol) should take me about 3 hours and 15 minutes - not bad!! And then from the show we'll be traveling on to Ohio to visit our good friend who recently moved out there (that was the clincher for my boyfriend, hehe).
Okay now I'm way excited!

You do live in a tiny state! We've been through a few times back and forth to Acadia and went to the aquarium the last time about 3 years ago. It's very pretty on the E side. Is it the same on the West?

Alright hotel room booked. Everything is all set, all I have to pay for is the gas to get there. We are staying at the Motel 6 in Pottstown.

You are at a good location for rt 100. I could probably walk there if I was in better shape! We only got to see Mystic on the way in. We set up in a campground for the night and then went back for pizza. I wish we could have stayed longer, the waterfront looked interesting. Maybe on another trip, post kids!

I keep begging my boyfriend to take me to do either the penguin or beluga whale encounter!! Wait wait, stacylynn, you get to WORK at the aquarium?? I'm so jealous! Over here, however, we have the Maritime Center in Norwalk. Which always keeps my aquarium fix in check! ;D That was always the place to go for field trips. Back on topic: Can't wait to meet you all at the Fandango!

Anyways I have never actually participated in a penguin contact but I did do a Beluga as a guest last month. They are a lot of fun. Right now they are half off, if you want more info PM me.

Changed our plans a little bit. We are driving in the morning of the show, then staying over night 'til Sunday at Motel 6. My fiancee's work schedule changed a little bit. I'd rather have it the other way but had to compromise.

I'd rather have it the other way but had to compromise. I won't be attending the show (I live in Michigan), but I just wanted to comment on your signature pics. All of your babies are adorable, but I have a particular fondness for white fur ferrets (or blondies as Clive calls them) and your Nibble and Stinker are absolutely gorgeous! I just want to kiss those gorgeous faces. And I was noticing Rikki had quite a long life...9 years.Wow, I hope my ferrets are that fortunate! Good luck at the show. Are the beauties entered in anything? Carolyn

P.S. Question about shows. Are all of the categories mainly based on the ferrets appearance or do they have any categories for their disposition? I have always thought my Ferret Bueller was the most amusing and personable ferret, and have always thought it would be cool to enter him into something like "best personality" but I doubt they have such a thing. Or do they?

I got my confirmation yesterday as well!!!! Yay!!!! To answer you disposition quesions - Disposition is a must!!!! Especially in the companion and specialty categories!!! An okay looking ferret in companion with a great personality and good maintenance (clean, clean ears, clean teeth, etc) will get a better score than a great looking ferret with no personality etc!!! Judges impression and Disposition can get you an easy 25 pts! To see the breakdown of scores look at the afa guidelines www.ferret.org/pdfs/ExhibitorGuidebook.pdfAngie

If your looking for a trolley/hand cart check out Harbor Freight! They have a very nice collapsible one for around $20. It is great because the whole thing folds up when not in use!!!! I have a couple of them!

I have a couple of them! LMAO! I used to work for HFT here in NY... I'd be careful.. Sometimes you can get awesome stuff from them, but sometimes the stuff is just complete junk and falls apart in seconds.. I also think it depends on the store too, some of them take better care of their merch. than others...

I also think it depends on the store too, some of them take better care of their merch. than others... This is very true!!!!! Believe me my hubby learned this the hard way! NO more pnuematic tools from HF. He purchased a framing nailer there as he only needed it for a project or two and wasn't really sure he had enough need to justify the Dewalt one (which we now own.) Anyways worked great for the first project. Then it started double firing. Well last part of a cage stand he was making for me and it fired 5 nails . Three into the board and 2 into his hand OUCH!!! I know several of us regular show goes that have the carts from various Harbor freights and they all seem to be holding up great! Angie
