I contacted the girl who had the facebook page to see if she needed any help with foster families so I could post the info on the different forums im on and heres what her reply was....
My office ran an ADV clinic today at the CCSPCA ... and they were absolutely lovely, wonderful, and accommodating to both us and their new weasel guests. They bended over backward to help us ... and are keeping the ferrets very clean and as comfortable as they can. As soon as we have the ADV results back the PFRA will begin the process of trying to home ferrets in suitable, screened homes; or another ferret rescue.
Thank you for your interest!

That is a huge amount of animals to have in two houses but from the photos on the first link the cages seem clean and the animals don't look bad. Typically the press takes photos of the worst looking animals so if that's as bad as they got the situation may not be as bad as the press made it out to be.

from some of what I read the neighbors said she was there all the time taking care of the animals and they could see her bringing food in all the time. what it seems is she just tried to help to many animals and it go overwhelming for her to do alone.

Yeah the one link says like all the hamsters and stuff were healthy but it seems the ferrets suffered the worst per the girl whose facebook it was who posted. She said they initially took 50 ferrets and 20 had to be put down right away due to severe health issues. She said a majority of the ferrets now have adrenal or some form of untreated cancer and all of them are extremely malnurished. It also seemed a huge amount of the reptiles were local animals who were turned back to the game lands so they could be rehabilitated if possible if not they will go live on a reserve somewhere. And I think they said like the dogs and birds were scoped up right away to loving homes. Just the lil ol' ferrets they were trying to figure out.... but now that they have contacted Mary Im sure they will be getting loving foster homes and/or forever homes, because as most of you read Mary's shelter is full. If anyone is in the area and may be able to help or may be interested in getting one or more for their crew I would contact Mary and see if you are able to help out...... even donations of litter and stuff will probably eventually be needed.

there are still about 15 that need placements. by next friday.
i want to take in a couple - and can do so easily in a few weeks.
with boo being so sick (which i hadn't posted here about - he went anemic and we did a transfusion and are still trying to figure out what caused the anemia) and on the extra meds for the next two weeks (trying to rule out chronic infection as the cause) and our two fert guests, i'm a bit stretched at the moment.
if mary still needs a couple placed by friday and can't find someone to hold onto them for a week or so until it's less frantic here, then, i'll just deal with things and go get them this weekend.
please, if anyone in the general vicinity can assist - even just to foster until permanent homes can be found, please let me or shaina know so we can contact mary!!

cross-posting to get the word out - for the ferrets that still need permanant homes as well as the other animals. as far as i know, all the birds have been taken care of (a friend of mine does bird rescues and those in her group local to the area stepped in immediately). don't know about the other exotics or the cats/dogs.
if anyone can assist with the ferrets that need permanant homes (still about 20, i think), please let mary, or me, know!!
i'm taking cage 5. cage 6 is also taken. one of quad groups was taken - i forget which one, though.
PLEASE CROSS-POST whereever it's not already posted!!!

My mom and I took a look at the listings because we live literally 45 minutes away, but since all of the ferrets were in groups of 2 or more we really didnt think me as a single person would be able to handle 5 ferrets..... however we did see that mary has a little girl up for adoption and contacted her about it. We have been looking for a single little girl to add to our crew and well she seems a lot like my crew energy wise. We contacted mary and started an applications so maybe we will end up with some ferret math after all. After all every adoption helps even if it isnt from the crew that was just brought in... it still opens up another slot for another needy ferret. So hopefully we will get lucky and she will be a good match for us!
