SAFE held a garage sale yesterday and made $800 for the ferrets! It was a great location, arrived with RV full, trailer, 2 vans and 2 trucks when all down fit into the trailer. I just want to share a few ideas that worked for us for those of you who work and support organizations yourself. this year we offered to pick up donations to be held for the sale about 4 weeks in advance. This was a win win for everyone, we had several large pick ups of donations. This year I suggested we hold the event at a business, I know. He was very generous to allow us. We we're very visiable and easy to get in and out of, it was even better as there were 2 other fundraisers in parking lot too. It was a great day for the SAFE, my sunburn was worth it!

That is fantastic!!!!!
Just another idea on the garage sale idea - With our youth group we have a rather large parking area. As a fundraiser we advertise a multi vendor / family garage sale. In addition to the youth group tables we sell parking spaces to be used by additional vendors and families for garage sales.
We have also done this with the school / PTA as well using the school parking lot.
Also a local dance group just did the same idea/concept. However - they did not have a large parking lot. So they found a business (bank) willing to let them use the parking lot for the weekend. Explaining what they were doing the bank even bought a space to advertise their bank and give out pens and "free" incentives for opening an accout the following business day.
Just a thought.

Congratulations! Glad it went well.
I love the idea about using a bank's parking lot on a Sunday.
