Its depends on its condition. Although...I would stash it away incase of emergency or use it as a time out cage.

I sold that exact cage for 50 bucks on craigs. The slide was done, and a clamp was broken. I didn't even have to list a listing on craigs, some girl was looking for a cage I sent her a message and it was sold. I got it for free with Gin and Tonic. That means I made money, instead of dishing out money

That's the same cage I got with Rikki. When my FN comes in I plan on using that one for quarintine and back up.

I was bored and perusing through the discusion forums on CL when I found a thread from a guy in NV listing his ferrets on CL and they kept getting flagged. The response he got was that since ferrets are illeagal in California, they are prohibited on CL per the TOU. BUT, if they are listed in the pets section, where they should be, most people don't bother with them unless they are "selling" or the adoption/re-homing fee is "too high". Not trying to stir up any big political debate, just pointing out how on state's stupidity can jack with alot of other people and places. Craigslist Terms of Use: www.craigslist.org/about/terms.of.use.htmln) that advertises any illegal service or the sale of any items the sale of which is prohibited or restricted by any applicable law, including without limitation items the sale of which is prohibited or regulated by California law. I would sell it, and get a smaller one for quarentining. I think that's what I'm going to do - I don't have enough room for two big cages. In fact, the hubby threw a fit when he found out how huge the FN cage is, LOL. Oh, well.

I have that cage and I do not like it. I actually bought it last weekend when I got my little ones bc the cage they came with was HORRIBLE and I needed a cage right then...and it was sunday evening...so I rushed to Petco and got that cage bc it was the only large one they had in stock (of course i paid full price for it and now its on sale) Its ok but its not worth what i paid. The shelves are cheap and flimsy and the slide doesnt get used...they just get confused and fall over it. I'd either stash it for an emergency or ask no more then $75 or so for it...depending on its condition. Had I had a chance to look around and shop for cages, this one would not have been my choice...and now im stuck

The groves in the shelves are difficult to get clean, the plastic parts break easily. Needless to say when i got that cage for free I was determined to sell it fast. Luckily my husband agreed and we bought the nation. Best purchase yet!

the problem with many of the rehoming fees is that people use that to get past the 'you can't sell your pet on craigslist' rule. They want to get what they paid for the pet, and use the wording 'rehoming' to sell their pets. I got Yuki for 160, he came with his cage, hammok, a full containor of food, half a bag of litter, and some toys, and I got Kylee for free. I even think his price was a stretch but the alternative to him getting adopted was him being taken away and possibly put to sleep. The big cage I got for free. I don't think people should charge outragious rehoming fees for their pets. I mean, I understand something to help keep them from being snake food, but the reason I wanted to adopt an older ferret from craigs list rather than going to the pet store was because I was hoping for a cheaper price so that I could spend my money buying things for them rather than buying them. if the fees are out ragious(since craigs list DOES state that they need to be reasonable) I will sometimes flag them. I think alot of the time people say they will put there ferrets down if no one takes them just because they want you to really think about them. I mean I don't think they really put them down because if they coulden't sell them then why wouldent they take em to a shelter? I don't really get why people flag over this. It is suppose to be reasonable but thats the pet owner and the person interested in buyings deal. I personally would never go that high for a ferret. The two boys I just got off of Denvers craigslist had several post. They dropped there fee from $100.00 to $75.00. It was worth it to me because they included everything even the 3 story cage.

I got my female ferret off there and she's great. On Craigslist they're not allowed to sell animals, though they do anyways by charging an outragous rehoming fee. If you get the cage and a bunch of supplies along with the fuzzy then the rehoming fee you posted doesn't seem unreasonable. But if not, then they are trying to make some sort of profit. Haha I caught that to. You can't sell but you can ask for an addoption fee. Thats the same thing. Your still paying money. silly craigslist.

So in all craigslist is like taking a 50/50 shot. Sometimes the fees are reasonable, sometimes there not. You also want to make sure there is nuthing wrong with the ferretts. IE: Health, No Exams, Pregent ect. In the 2nd e-mail (if it's going your way) you should always ask about there shots and there health.)

Luckily I doubt anyone will find a pregnant ferret on craigslist, or any cheap ad in the US. People really do euthinize pets, or leave them at a vets to be PTS insted of taking them to a rescue. its so sad, but i've run into it several times.

And boy do people lie! I don't know whether these "boys" (one turned out to be a girl?!?!) are 'good on shots until July' as the owner said or not. I'm kind of fed up with all the crap these poor ferrets must have gone through, but I get attached quick. What my hubby doesn't know is that Goliath is probably sick, and will probably need adrenal surgery. In fact, hubby doesn't know much of anything, LOL. He was upset tonight because they weren't out in my unfinished, una/c'ed office - then I informed him of their temperature needs. Guess he shoulda done his research before telling me yes, Anyhoo, back on topic - the problem animals hunt me down, so I really shouldn't have been surprised getting a probably sick ferret, LOL. Oh well.....

I just got two of my ferrets, Caia and Atticus, from CL for free. The woman even offered a five foot cage for free, but I told her she should just sell it seeing as how I have a Ferret Nation cage. I do think more than $75 is quite a bit of money when people are putting their ferrets up for adoption for free!

There are 2 ferrets and a FN cage listed on CL in central NJ for $500. To me that's steep - I got my FN cage off eBay for $190 - that included shipping.

I am getting my ferret this weekend from Craig's list. $60 for a ferret and all his supplies. I don't know if his cage is included but I know he listed Litter, Food, Toys, Hammock, Harness, Leash, ect. For all that, I think $60 is a real good deal especially when ferrets here cost $100+ at the petshop and $75 at the closest ferret rescue that I know of. He has cats and a dog right now and him and his girl is never home and feel that the ferret shouldn't be left in the cage all the time so he wants to find a better home for him and just wants to recoup a little money. Which is fine, I'm doing the same with my tiel. I heard I could get $80-$85. In some states she goes for $100-$150! But trying for $50 to help get Kodo. However a woman who rehabs tiels is offering $20 and willing to take it if it means a good life for my royal pain. I also found a rescue on Craig's list who is asking a fee of $50 which we're getting this weekend too, for my other ferret.
